Hermès Launches $5,150 MagSafe Charger That Costs More Than an iPhone

Hermès Launches $5,150 MagSafe Charger That Costs More Than an iPhone

Hermès has expanded its long-standing partnership with Apple in a bold new direction, introducing a lineup of luxury MagSafe charging accessories that push pricing into an entirely different category. At the center of the collection is a $5,150 MagSafe bundle, a price that exceeds even a fully loaded iPhone.

This release takes a familiar everyday accessory—charging—and reimagines it through the lens of high-end craftsmanship and fashion.

A Charger Wrapped in Luxury

The flagship product is the Paddock Duo charger paired with the Grand Paddock case, priced at $5,150. The set is crafted in France using Gold Swift calfskin leather, a material commonly found in Hermès handbags and accessories.

The Duo charger includes two MagSafe charging zones, allowing users to wirelessly charge an iPhone alongside AirPods or an Apple Watch at the same time. The charging system is seamlessly integrated beneath the leather surface, finished with Hermès’ signature saddle stitching.

The included travel case is designed to match, featuring an internal storage pocket for carrying the charger and related accessories. The entire set is positioned as both a functional device and a luxury statement piece.

More Options, Still Premium Pricing

While the $5,150 bundle is the headline product, Hermès is offering several additional chargers at lower—though still premium—price points.

The Paddock Duo charger alone is available for $1,750, while the Paddock Solo offers single-device charging for $1,250. Another option, the Paddock Yoyo, also priced at $1,750, features a double-sided design that supports different devices depending on how it’s positioned.

Across the lineup, each charger is wrapped in calfskin leather and features a subtle “H” logo aligned with the magnetic charging point.

Design First, Technology Second

From a technical standpoint, these chargers function similarly to standard MagSafe accessories. They require a minimum 20W power source via USB-C to deliver fast wireless charging.

Like many modern Apple accessories, the chargers do not include a power adapter in the box, though a USB-C cable is provided.

The real difference here isn’t performance—it’s presentation. Hermès is clearly targeting customers who value craftsmanship, materials, and brand identity over pure practicality.

Extending the Apple x Hermès Partnership

Hermès and Apple have collaborated for nearly a decade, most notably through co-branded Apple Watch models and bands. Those products blended Apple’s technology with Hermès’ luxury design language.

This new collection marks a shift beyond wearables and into everyday accessories, bringing the same premium approach to something as routine as charging your devices.

Who Is This For?

For most people, a MagSafe charger is a simple, functional accessory that costs under $100. Hermès is offering a completely different perspective.

These chargers are aimed at a niche audience—buyers who see Apple accessories not just as tools, but as part of a broader lifestyle and aesthetic. In that context, the pricing aligns more closely with luxury fashion than consumer electronics.

The Bigger Picture

The launch highlights how Apple’s ecosystem continues to expand into new categories and partnerships. Even something as basic as a charger can be reimagined at multiple price tiers—from budget-friendly to ultra-premium.

For most users, these Hermès chargers won’t be a practical purchase. But they serve as a reminder of how far Apple’s ecosystem can stretch—and how brands like Hermès are finding new ways to redefine everyday tech as luxury goods.
