The App Store remains the financial backbone of Apple’s services strategy. Apple says the platform now averages more than 850 million weekly visitors across 175 countries.

Since its launch in 2008, developers selling digital goods and services have earned over $550 billion. Notably, Apple emphasized that more than 90 percent of the $1.3 trillion in commerce facilitated in 2025 occurred directly between developers and customers, generating no commission for Apple.

The period between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day set new all-time spending records, with productivity and photo apps emerging as some of the fastest-growing categories.

Apple TV+ ended 2025 with record engagement. Total viewership hours rose 36 percent in December compared to the previous year, marking the service’s most-watched month ever.

A major driver was the global streaming debut of F1 The Movie, starring Brad Pitt, which Apple says is now the highest-grossing sports movie of all time.

Awards momentum also continued. The Studio became the most Emmy-winning freshman comedy in history, while Severance emerged as the most-awarded drama. Looking ahead, Apple will expand its sports ambitions further when it becomes the exclusive U.S. home for live Formula 1 races starting in March.

Apple Music Celebrates 10 Years With Record Growth

Apple Music marked its 10th anniversary in 2025 by reaching all-time highs in both listenership and subscribers.

Throughout the year, Apple rolled out new features such as:

  • Lyrics Translation
  • AutoMix for smoother playlist transitions

Apple Music also expanded beyond phones and headphones. A new partnership with General Motors brought a native Apple Music app to vehicles, supporting Spatial Audio playback without requiring a connected iPhone.

Apple Pay and Wallet Continue Global Expansion

Apple Pay** is now available in 89 markets worldwide. Over the past year, the service generated more than $100 billion in incremental merchant sales globally.

Apple Wallet also gained significant new capabilities:

  • Digital ID support for U.S. passports, currently being tested at select TSA checkpoints
  • Digital driver’s licenses and state IDs now live in 13 states and Puerto Rico
  • International ID expansion beginning in Japan with My Number Card support

These updates signal Apple’s growing ambition to make Wallet a central identity and payments hub.

Apple Fitness+ Expands to a Global Audience

Apple Fitness+ had its biggest year yet, expanding to 28 new countries and regions in 2025.

To support its broader audience, Apple introduced:

  • Digitally dubbed workouts in Spanish and German
  • Custom Plans that automatically generate workout schedules based on user preferences

The changes aim to make Fitness+ more accessible and personalized worldwide.

Other Service Milestones in 2025

Apple highlighted several additional achievements across its services ecosystem:

  • Apple Maps expanded detailed 3D city experiences to New Orleans, Singapore, and Monaco
  • Find My extended item-sharing support to 36 airlines, helping customers recover lost luggage
  • Apple Podcasts celebrated its 20th anniversary, naming The Rest Is History as Show of the Year

A ‘Banner Year’ for Apple Services

According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, 2025 was a “banner year” for the division. Cue said Apple remains focused on improving everyday experiences across its platforms while continuing to prioritize user privacy.

As Apple’s hardware business matures, Services are increasingly shaping the company’s long-term growth—and 2025 made it clear just how central that strategy has become.
