AirPods Pro 3 Could Arrive This Month With Health Features, New Case & Translation Support

It looks like Apple may have one more surprise up its sleeve for September. According to a fresh Bloomberg report, the long-awaited AirPods Pro 3 could debut at Apple’s upcoming “Awe dropping” event on September 9. If true, this would mark the first update to the Pro line in three years.

Health Tracking Comes to AirPods

One of the biggest rumored upgrades is a built-in heart rate monitor. This would expand Apple’s health ecosystem beyond the Watch and iPhone, giving users a new way to track wellness data right from their earbuds. Interestingly, a similar feature appeared earlier this year in the Powerbeats Pro 2, so Apple already has experience putting this tech in earbuds.

A Smaller, Smarter Charging Case

The charging case is reportedly getting a redesign, too:

  • Smaller footprint than the current Pro case.

  • No physical pairing button — instead, touch controls on the front will handle pairing and possibly playback shortcuts.

  • Lanyard support, which may tie into Apple’s rumored crossbody strap launching with the iPhone 17.

This means your AirPods case may soon be more portable, more stylish, and even easier to use on the go.

Apple Intelligence Brings Real-Time Translation

Perhaps the most exciting software upgrade: live conversation translation. Powered by Apple Intelligence in iOS 26, this would let AirPods Pro 3 serve as real-time language interpreters — perfect for travel, work, or meeting new people. Imagine tapping your AirPods and instantly bridging a language gap.

Earlier Than Expected

What makes this rumor especially surprising is timing. Analysts Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo had previously predicted AirPods Pro 3 wouldn’t arrive until 2026. If Apple really launches them this month, it’s two years ahead of schedule.

When to Watch

If Bloomberg’s sources are right, we’ll find out on September 9, when Apple is also expected to announce the iPhone 17 lineup and other fall hardware.
